Dr. Jesse Veenstra

Assistant Professor of Business Administration

Dr. Jesse Veenstra serves as assistant professor of business administration at ͹Ƶ, teaching courses such as Corporate Finance, Investment Management, and Defender Capital Management.

“I am deeply convicted that capital, when stewarded wisely and ethically, can be a powerful force for human flourishing,” says Veenstra. “As a professor and advisor, I’m inspired by the opportunity to shape students not only into smart decision-makers but into people who see profit as a means to serve.”

Prior to Dordt, Veenstra served at Merchants Bonding Company for eight years as Senior Surety Underwriter. Additionally, he served in floorplan financing and management with Automotive Finance Corporate and financial planning with Edward Jones.

Veenstra’s research interests include multi-leveling marketing (MLM) and microfinance, exploring these interests in numerous In All Things articles.

Outside of his teaching responsibilities, Veenstra serves as a faculty athletic representative, Defender Capital Management advisor, and assistant cross country coach.

In his free time, Veenstra enjoys triathlons and running, including competing in 10x Ironman, 3x Ironman World Championships, and 20+ marathons. His family is also involved in foster care locally.

“My faith shapes everything I do,” says Veenstra. “It reminds me that finance isn’t just about numbers, but about people, purpose, and stewardship. At the core, my faith compels me to pursue excellence, integrity, and humility—not just to inform minds, but to form hearts.”
