Lisa Mouw

Instructor of Education

Lisa Mouw serves as an instructor of education at ͹Ƶ, teaching courses such as Educational Psychology, Curriculum and Instruction for Middle School, Methods for Teaching Social Studies, and Methods for Teaching Bible.

Mouw’s research interests span educational psychology, particularly fostering belonging and community in the classroom.

Prior to Dordt, Mouw served as an educator in Christian schools for nearly two decades, teaching preschool through eighth grade for 14 years, followed by five years as a school administrator.

In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Mouw serves on the CORE Program Committee, the Teacher Preparation Committee, and the In All Things Conference Planning Committee. She was also the speaker at Dordt’s Education Club banquet in 2025.

Off campus, she serves as a mentor to new Christian schools, leads professional development, and presents at conferences.

“My faith impacts my desire to invite, nurture, and empower future educators to teach Christianly,” adds Mouw. “I see every student and colleague as an image bearer with inherent value and potential for serving in the Kingdom.”

In her free time, Mouw enjoys reading, running outdoors, baking, puzzles, and time with family.
