Dr. Tom Prinsen
Professor of Business & Communication
Dr. Thomas Prinsen serves as professor of business and communication at Ƶ, where he teaches courses such as Public Relations, Organizational Communication, Campaigns and Cases, and Marketing Research.
A Ƶalumnus, Prinsen finds joy in mentoring students and helping them discover how their professional callings connect to God’s work in the world. “I love the energy that students bring,” says Prinsen. “It is exciting to see how the Lord works in their lives as they develop and conduct their kingdom work.”
Before joining Dordt, Prinsen led advertising and public relations efforts for Hy-Vee’s Sioux Falls stores and served as global manager of market intelligence for Biomet Orthopedics. His faith continues to guide his teaching and professional practice. “My faith provides the framework for the work I love,” he reflects.
Prinsen’s research interests include medical tourism, marketing research, and sports promotion. He has presented and published work, including the following:

Beyond the classroom, Prinsen advises Dordt’s trapshooting team, the Defender Clay Dusters. He also consults for the Marine’s Toys for Tots program and serves as a reserve deputy sheriff for the state of Iowa.
