Dr. Tom Prinsen serves as professor of business and communication at ͹Ƶ, teaching courses such as Marketing Research, Public Relationship, Campaigns & Cases, and Workplace Communications.

His research interests include not-for-profit donations and donors, medical tourism, and teaching for application. Since arriving at Dordt, he has contributed to several scholarly publications and presentations, including:

Prior to Dordt, Prinsen worked in creative and analytical positions in the grocery and orthopedic industries, gaining experience in all facets of public relations and marketing—from writing public service announcements to marketing reports.

Outside of teaching, Prinsen continues to conduct marketing research for the Marine’s Toys for Tots Foundation. As a certified law enforcement officer through the Iowa Law Enforcement Association, Prinsen also serves as a Reserve Deputy for the Woodbury County Sheriff's Office and advisers Dordt’s shooting club. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with grandkids and exploring the riding trails of the Black Hills.
