Julia Vande Vegte, a senior piano performance and pedagogy student at ͹Ƶ, will give a piano recital on April 11 at 7 p.m. in the Jim and Marilyn Dean Recital Hall.

Vande Vegte will play selected works from Scarlatti, Beethoven, Debussy, Poulenc, Chopin, and Brahms. She will be accompanied by Josiah Vos as Secondo pianist for Brahms’s Hungarian Dances.

“I am really excited about this program because each piece is in a very different style, as well as from many different times in history,” says Vande Vegte. “I love the unique harmonies found in Poulenc’s music, and Debussy is one of my favorite composers because of the moods and atmosphere his music creates.”

Outside of her studies, Vande Vegte is a church musician, teaches private lessons, is a Chorale and recital accompanist, and a featured soloist for J.S. Bach’s Keyboard Concerto in D minor with the ͹Ƶ Chamber Orchestra.
