Senior fine arts and graphic design major to display "Wings Like Eagles" in Campus Center Art Gallery

“Wing Like Eagles,” the senior art exhibit of ͹Ƶfine arts and graphic design major Micah Schaap, will be on display in the Campus Center Art Gallery from April 13 through May 9.

Micah Schaap, a fine arts and graphic design major from Edgerton, Minnesota, will have his senior art exhibit, "Wing Like Eagles," on display in the Campus Center Art Gallery from April 13 to May 9.

Inspired by the numerous scripture verses mentioning birds, Schaap's work reflects his belief that there is something representative in birds that translates into faith. “The dove as a symbol of gentleness and purity, the eagle’s wings as an image of strength, the sparrow a reminder of God’s care for every individual creature, they all point back to their creator,” says Schaap.

"By looking closer at what God calls us to learn from the birds of the air, we can be transformed. My show seeks to demonstrate the power of this transformation,” adds Schaap.

To learn more about Schaap and his work, the community is invited to a public reception in the gallery on April 21 at 7 p.m.
